Never a disappointment.
The Christmas Singing, is a wonderful book, I read it in one sitting.
Cindy grabs the reader with her characters, she brings them to life so that until the very end you don't want to leave them, and even then she leaves you wanting more.
Having lost several close family members to cancer, I can certainly understand Mattie's anger at Gideon for trying to protect her, however he also robbed her of using the the one gift that God commands us to use... our love for one another.
Mattie and Gideon's story reminds us that we are not alone in this life. God has always been and will always be there for us.
I enjoyed this journey with Mattie, she made me laugh and cry and very hungry. Thank you Cindy for putting those recipes in the back.
I love reading about the Amish, although I am a true Englisher an could never survive with out my gadgets, because of Cindy I have often wondered what it would be like to really live the life of the Amish.

Love Food & Live Well
Chantel Hobbs is wonderful.
I have been over weight all of my life. I have played the diet rollercoaster most of my life. I can't wait to see the results that I get from implementing Chantel's advice.
Not only does she touch on the obvious, but I had never thought of putting a name to my obesity. Eating disorder.
I realize now that I not only have an eating disorder, but a control problem to boot. I look forward to letting go and letting God... I never thought to let God help me with this problem, I just thought it was something I had to learn to control.
Like any other addiction, I have to remember to choose each day to stick to "The Deal" and make a conscious effort to live healthy. I don't have to completely give up the foods that I like to eat.
I believe this book is not only for those of us who are over weight, but also for those who have any type of eating disorder.
Please read this book with an open mind and heart.

Sisterchicks in Wooden Shoes
Super read.
Robin Jones Gunn has a made me feel like I was riding down the Amsterdam canal with Summer and Noel.
Even though Summer's reason for her impromptu trip was a bit scary, she and Noelle brought both laughter and tears to this wonderful story.
I would recommend this book to anyone whether or not they are faced with a medical scare such as cancer or not. My husband allowed me to read it to him and he actually got caught up in the story and would ask me what was going on with the girls when I was reading without him with me. I even had to go back and read a couple of chapters to him to keep him up to speed.
I can't wait to read more of Robin's sisterchick books.

Very inspirational
"Plain Wisdom" by Cindy Woodsmall and Miriam Flaud
These are two women I think I would really like to meet. They have reintroduced the Lover of my soul to me once again.
I have know God for a while now and thought I had established a decent relationship with him. However, they have helped me see the areas in which I need to focus on Him more, and me less.
This is a book that has re-awakened in me the need to get closer to God and look at things around me with new eyes, realizing that I am not perfect and I don't need to be.
There is a wonderful discussion guide in the back of this book and I would recommend this for a women's ministry study. It is very easy to read and has some wonderful receipes in it.

A book review of "Life, In Spite of Myself
"Life, In Spite of Me" is one of the most inspiring books I have read in a very long time.
The story of Kristen Anderson, the troubles she faced and over came, brought chills to my spine and tears to my eyes. She took me back to my own childhood and made me wonder how on earth I made it through as I didn't become a christian until my late 30's. God saw me through without my even knowing it.
This story isn't just about a failed attempted suicide, rather the love and Grace of God, that is there and ready for the taking if we would only accept him
I have recommended this book to my pastors wife and suggest that it be placed in the church library for anyone to read if they are facing times of questioning and wonder.
Kristen has brought me back to where I need to be, even at 43 years of age I had forgotten to let God lead me where HE wants me to go.
Please read this book with an open heart and a willingness to accept and maybe even understand what God can and will do for you.

My First ever blog
Hello,
Not completely sure what I am going to say or what I should say, but here it goes.
Shellie, I miss you so much and I think about you often. I know that you are happy for Pat and Melissa, and I hope that you are smiling down on us. I am still praying for a cure for cancer. You were way to young to be taken from us. Love your big sis.
When I figure out what I am doing here, I will write again.
